Handed this portrait to my neighbour today. . I was minding her kids one day, and got a photo of Tara on my phone. She had this impish little smile and luckily, I captured it. Tara has cerebal palsy and has no muscle control, she isnt able to sit or eat or speak. and I noticed that they dont have many "smiling photos" of her as they do with the boys. Which is such a shame as she is the prettiest little girl. I just see past the disablement and know when I blow a blurty on her arm and she laughs, that she is just alittle girl and hopefully, my painting will show others to see her as I do.

Oh wendi, you have really done Tara justice. It is a lovely portrait. I hope your neighbour likes it.

Thanks heaps kay. She LOVED it !! she told me, how hard it was to get a picture of her smiling and she was just so wrapt. So, I've smiled all night to know I've made them happy. She was going to take it to Taras school next week to show them. LOL. I make it to show and tell !!!

Wendi...that really touched me...as you know I have an autistic boy...It means so much to me when other people see him as nothing more that the beautiful perfect little boy I see...you have captured that pure beauty inside that little girl...their joy would be great.

Thanks Vesna. Your words mean alot as I was scared I had overstepped the line, when I was painting her. I worried that they might have thought I was trying to make her whole as to speak which was furthest from the truth, I know there is a little girl in there that loves to look, laugh and learn. I take my hat off to you, to be able to have the extra workload and still have enough energy to share you art.
